Bible about Success
Genesis 1:28-29
28. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the sea and the sky and every creature that moves on the ground
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it; they will be yours for food".
In Genesis 1:28-29, we see God gave us blessings in the form of food, land, animals, and things we can count. God created Adam and Eve (humans) in his own image. We can see that god blessed humankind from the beginning. Adam and Eve had everything for them, but we will come to this point again. Let’s see Genesis 39:2-6
Genesis 39:2-6
2 The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, andhe\ lived in the same house as his Egyptian master.
3 When his Master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did.
4 Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.
5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and all that he owned,d the Lord blessed the household of Egyptian because of Joseph. The Lord's blessing was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.
6 So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph's care, with Joseph in charge; he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.
When Judah and his brother sold Joseph to Midianite traders, Joseph was taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of Pharaoh's guard, bought him, and later what did he noticed that God was with Joseph; after that, Joseph became his attendant. Potiphargave himm charge of his household and field because Joseph was blessed with success. And later we see that he helped his family during the time of crisis.
How to get the blessing of success?
(i) Humble yourself
(ii) Delight in the Lord
(iii) Commitment & trustworthiness to him
Let us see
James 4:10
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you
As it’s written in James 4:10, we have to humble ourselves in front of him, which means we should not be proud and arrogant. He sees everything, and he notices everything you do,o just like Joseph.
Psalms 37:4
4 Take delight in the Lord, rd and he will give you the desire of your heart.
Again, be humble, enjoy in him, pray to him, praise him, and give thanks to him for every little thing you own and have. That is how one can delight in the Lord, and God will bless you with success.
Proverbs 16:3
3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do,o and he will establish your plan.
In this verse, we can clearly understand that we must pledge our loyalty to Jesus. Now you may be thinking, what? Commitment to God? So let me give a little example; suppose you are a student, then you must focus on your studies and bible studies, pray, manage your time, be good to your parents, stay away from bad habits, etc.
When you follow the word of God,d it’s your commitment to God, od and he will secure your future, and he will reward you.
Luke 16:10-11
10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much
11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly things, who will trust you with true riches?
It clearly states that being a worthy man/woman. As we saw with Adam & Eve, they were trusted,d and they betrayed God by eating the forbidden fruit and were banished from Ed;n, we can find many stories similar to this. And that’s why we must be Humble, Delight in the Lord, give our commitment to the Lord and be trustworthy to him.
I King 2:3
3. And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments as it is written in the law of Moses. That you may prosper in all that you do and whatever you do
So when we walk with God, we give him our trust and commitment, and we enjoy his presence; we receive his blessing and success in whatever we pursue or things we do. Let's end with Jeremiah 17:7
Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord”
Amen
